Kirsten Dunst in Chanel @ Chanel haute couture Spring 11.
She looks so classy it even inspired me to create a best dressed of the week post. And the thing I love most is how accessible this look is with its simplicity.
Kate Moss out on the town. I’m probably among the minute minority who are not kate moss fans. I find fashion’s obsession with Kate Moss overrated, her style nothing out of the ordinary. She just has a better body than the rest of us and pulls it off better. But I have to hand it to her for putting together this chic look so effortlessly and looking so damn good.
There’s a line between want and need. And everytime I see this gown my heart flutters more and more towards need. I would never wear it though. It’s too pretty and delicate and meant to be kept. But I’ll pay it a visit everyday in my closet and just marvel at its beauty…
Doesn’t this Elie Saab collection seem very Valentino esque? I was confused for a second. Anyway I absolutely adore it. It’s sensational. This is just the kind of show I want to go to. And I’ll die at the end from hyperventilating.
Phoebe Philo continues to take my breath away… I’m dying!!
Been spending a lot of time with my gfs lately, especially this week, because they are all leaving sg. These pictures mark out last unforgettable night together for a while. I love these girls ❤
I just did my hair and this is how it looks now:
OK yup, it’s exactly the same as before…
I initially wrote this on my other blog but I’m copying it over here because I was going to share the picture anyway so I might as well add an excerpt.
On January 16 2011:
“I am currently stuffing my face with calbee seaweed chips. It’s a weird choice for favourite chips but it’s my favourite. 😀 I just got home from seeing Crystal Castles live and I came up with a very clever line “Alice isn’t in chains, she’s in crutches” and put it on both twitter and facebook but I’m quite sure most people don’t get it because it has so far gone unnoticed 😦 Except Arun, he thinks it’s pretty clever too! Alice in Chains is a band. And Alice Glass of Crystal Castles came to the gig in crutches due to a knee injury.
The dancefloor was a mosh pit today, and it killed me. I feel too old for such stuff. Nowadays, I only attend concerts held in air conditioned venues with seats. Haha. There was a period of time I enjoyed going to concerts and jumping around and exchanging sweat with strangers but age has gotten to me. Plus my view was mostly always obstructed by tall angmoh men. While my friends pushed n shoved n rioted their way towards Alice Glass, I was comfortably standing in a quiet corner enjoying the music (which was awesome because crystal castles is awesome, even on crutches). I know, I’m sooo boring :p”
It is not often my friends and I get together. Over the last year everyone I know has taken vastly different routes. When we manage to all be in the same place at the same time, there is one thing we will not do without… Champagne. Wow, this is beginning to sound slightly cliché, because duh champagne is an obvious celebratory drink and a fixture during special occasions. I’m not sure what it is, but popping the bottle amongst friends and loved ones, pouring out the first glass together, counts as a very blessed moment in life. It is a moment shared and savored.
In this ad campaign, Scarlett Johansson looks like Alice in Moet Wonderland. I love it because the pictures perfectly capture the lightness of the drink. The setting and outfits represent the glamour that comes with every sip. And there is a general cheerful and floaty vibe. Exactly what champagne is. 🙂 Beautiful!
“Three be the things I shall never attain: envy, content and suficient champagne” -Dorothy Parker
“Champagne is the only wine that leaves a woman beautiful after drinking it.” -Madame de Pompadour
“As symbols go, champagne is extraordinarily powerful. It makes you feel like it’s Sunday and better days are just around the corner.” -Marlene Dietrich
“Too much of anything is bad, but too much champagne is just right.” -F Scott Fitzgerald
A few days ago I met a tourist who told me he was staying at Fort Canning Hotel and that was the first I’ve ever heard of such a place. He said it was newly opened and every room was equipped with a nespresso machine (!!!) and TWG teas, among other things. I looked the place up on the internet when I got home and wow I’m seriously impressed. Pictured below is the Deluxe room which is like the most basic but it’s already soo to die for.
After that I went to look up on other new hotels in Singapore and there is ONE that like hit it out of the park for me, its AMAZEBALLS. I’m talking about Amara Sanctuary Resort. Is this really Singapore? I’ll let the pictures do the talking.
It’s not that I drink a lot, or drink at home at all, but this is something I really want for my home right now and I am still searching for the perfect most vintage looking decanter a la Mad Men.
And by the way in the first photo is Roger Sterling who is my favourite character on the show because he is so damn sexy.
Kate Micucci has a recurring role on Scrubs (best show ever or what?).. She plays Gooch (cutest person ever ). Multi-talented as well because she’s in there to contribute to the soundtrack once in a while and I’m crazy about “The Happy Song” she wrote and performed in S8E17!
This is the full scene during which the song was played. Just listen to the background music! The scenes are all really random because it’s the ending of an episode hence the montage.
